It's Your Body - How to take care of Your body

It's your body!! How are you going to take care of it?

So often I get people calling for last minute appointments in deep pain or unable to move their heads or necks. When a muscle has gotten that tight to cause such restricted motion or so much pain it really shows me how difficult it is for people to take care of themselves.

We have so many other obligations that we always come last - whether it is committing to a weekly massage so we can work a few extra hours or because we need to take care of the family and house chores - we always put ourselves last.

Setting your needs aside for others may seem like a good idea at the time but when muscle spasms turn into , herniated discs, plantar fascitits, tendinitis or chronic headaches something is out of balance in the picture. Sacrificing your needs for others needs just doesn't work. In the long run you will end up feeling resentful, stressed out and even angry.

Taking care of yourself begins with realizing the harsh realities that it's your body and you have to take care of it.

Most of my clients I have had for 15 years or more which each of them coming every other week, once a week and even 2x a week. Taking care of yourself in this way is saying something about yourself and what you think of your body. While you are not your body, you do have to live in it so why not let it be as comfortable as you can be!
